Biblical Incense Ingredients


Whenever one enters any Roman Catholic Church available in the US, you have no choice but to catch the familiar faint scent of incense. This is like the monstrance available at the tabernacle on the alter available on the wall. The incense has several antiquity roots. This ingredient is used in varying quantities from one Parish to the next.Tousing frankincense is also used in different parishes. These trees are called the Boswellia sacra, Felix from the Arab Emirates, and Boswellia papyrifera from India. From Catholic Encyclopedia, the resin is gotten to improve fragrance and create smoke that isthicker since ancient times.

Just like frankincense, myrrh has been a resin that is gotten from trees that grow basically in the middle east. The use of resins came from the Arabian Peninsula. Resin typically comesfrom the Commiphora myrrha tree, though there are several other members from the Commiphora family that provides this. This is an incense ingredient that has a fragrance that is obtained from the storax tree. Rabbis have identified the state as the Gilead Balm. Stacte is a very pure form of myrrh. Itflows spontaneously from the trees once the stall from that tree has been crushed, broken, or pierced. Myrrh is a fragrance that stands for suffering. Jesus is the world’s Gilead Balm. He’s the Greatest Physicianthat heals all spiritual, moral and physical flaw or suffering. Stacte is gotten from breaking. The first foundation of our lives is brokenness as we prepare for worship. Worship in the presence of all forms of suffering andall confrontation with brokenness and sin in one’s life. 


Stacte also means being prepared. It comes from the way we all prepare ourselves for worship. It helps us touch everyone like him.

 

Onycha

This is the sweet part of a shellfish that has a fantastic aroma. It also has a powerful odor after one burns it. Onycha is harvested from the depths of the Indian Ocean and the RedSea. We need to let God have complete access to the deepest parts of our hearts. Allowing him plumb through the depths of who we are, that’s the only way we can enjoy what we call life. Onycha increases the fragranceone has on other perfumes. The word comes from a Hebrew word known as Lion or To Roar. Our if the depths of our hearts comes us roaring to live. These are deep calls to worship. Worship God from the depths of your hearts andlives.

Onycha also means process. It comes from allowing God have access to our hearts and our lives. To help us all sound like God, to be like God, and to live like God. As one uses this ingredientto make biblical incense, God is never too far.

 

Galbanum

This refers to being fat. It represents the fact that we should give all of ourselves to God. This spice that smells in a way you might not like comes from an umbelliferous plant. Wheneverthe plant part is broken, there’s a cream-colored juice that flows out. These were included in making frankincense to help us understand that it is okay for sinners to be with us and for them to pray. When this is burned,Galbanum brings out the scent of all other ingredients and prolongs their time theirs scent last.

Galbanum is crushed finely. This leaves the fragrance of the incense to remain consistent. After preparing this in fire, it leaves the incense to last correctly. The scent chases insectsaway. This smell of God’s presence is hoped to drive the devil away.

 

Myrrh and Frankincense are two spices that are used to create different substances that are used in the ancient Jewish temple of Jerusalem. Historically, they were also used to createmedicine, cosmetics, perfume, and several of them.

Basic essential ingredients like frankincense smell lovely. It is also used as a cosmetic which includes making kohl. I’m sure you all know kohl.  


What is Kohl?

Kohl is an ancient eyeliner that’s usually depicted in movies related to Egypt. It is also used in ancient Egyptian art.

Frankincense has a bitter taste, and thus, it is used as an ingredient in Middle Eastern and Asian medical traditions.
